Interview with Alexis Anicque

Hey, y'all! It's finally back to school time. Are you excited? As a mom of five, I definitely am. I need all the uninterrupted writing time I can get at this point! Anywho, it's Tuesday and you know what that means, a fresh author interview! Today, we have Alexis Anicque with us. Alexis is a wife and mother and grandmother. But she's also an amazing writer who uses her own personal experiences for her work. I love when authors do that. It always makes the story more real and makes me feel more connected with the characters. I've recently started her Famous Adventure series. It's a little different from my normal reads but in a good way. I especially love the way she wrote the main character. She's so relatable and strong. Definitely be sure to check out all of Alexis' books!

How did your writing journey begin?

I have always just loved to be a storyteller.

How do you find the time to write?

Being a minimalist, I don’t need much, I live a fairly chill lifestyle. I have a lot of time.

Is there an author you wish you could spend the day with?

Living or deceased. Not really, well, maybe C.S. Lewis because The Chronicles of Narnia was my all time favorite series.

What is your favorite location you have been?

Definitely The Eiffel Tower in Paris, runner up would be the parliament building in Budapest, Hungary.

How difficult was it to turn cross into audio books?

I used ACX for my audibles, it is fairly easy.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Hard to answer because I read nearly every genre, so it is definitely mood based.

What are some of your hobbies when you are not writing?

Traveling, sailing, watching movies, camping, fishing, this list is long.

How would you describe sailing to someone who has never been?

My moment of serenity is when you shut down the engines and glide along the water.

On a bad day, how do you cheer yourself up?

Music and dance or a funny movie.

What is at the top of your bucket list of things to do/accomplish?

I have lived nearly every dream, maybe not the version I had anticipated, but recently I have added a goal of becoming a motivational speaker.

What is your favorite book you have written so far?

Jump Before You Fall, because it’s about my hubby and I moving onto a sailboat and that was one of the best times in my life.

Do you have any tips for aspiring authors?

It’s a roller coaster prepare yourself for the downs but live for the ups. Take a course in marketing before you publish.
